IASSIST conference

Please join us either in-person or virtually in Philadelphia, 31 May to 2 June, 2023, for the international IASSIST conference, with the theme of – Diversity in Research: Social Justice from Data. Four special guest speakers will address the theme from their unique perspectives in a new Fireside chat format.

The final program is full of familiar and new data-related topics, and you have a choice of joining in person with all of the fun and friendly social events including a banquet on a yacht, and a day of pre-conference workshops, or remotely, to engage from the comfort of office or home. If you are registering in person, we encourage you to stay at the conference hotel with us – there is a block booking that is competitive with local rates and availability.

Register for the conference here.In addition to an IASSIST member’s rate, there is a reduced rate of 50% for students and other lower income categories. Questions about registration or the hotel booking may be addressed to iassist@concentra-cms.com. For those attending remotely from the comfort of your homes and offices, the conference schedule is based on Eastern Standard Time (EST) and the entire substantive program will be accessible with high quality audio-video and Q&A. Links to recordings of sessions you may miss will be given to registered participants to catch up with anything outside of your timezone.

About IASSIST:

IASSIST (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology) is an international organization of professionals working with information technology and data services to support research and teaching. IASSIST was founded in 1974. We want to leverage our unique expertise in the social sciences to help benefit all data professionals and support open science. Our journal IASSIST Quarterly, or IQ, features many articles relevant to research data management and related topics.

Conferences reflect our international membership, with a strong base in North America, and are usually held in the US, Canada and Europe, on a rotating basis. This is our 48th conference and our second hybrid conference since the Covid pandemic. The recently formed Africa chapter is hosting its own event in Pretoria, in November.
